Slipgate Stories is a series of anthological, fan-made, narrative-driven FPS concepts inspired by the brutal legacy of classic shooters. Each entry is a self-contained descent into violence and uncertainty: new characters, new worlds, and new interpretations of hell, linked only by the existence of the Slipgate itself, a threshold between realities that was never meant to be opened.
Every story explores a different outcome of stepping through the gate, one's personal struggles. Some worlds are overrun, others abandoned, others still fighting a war already lost. There is no single canon, no shared hero, and no promise of resolution only fragments of truth left behind in corrupted facilities, ruined citadels, and hostile dimensions that do not care why you arrived.
Built in the spirit of classic FPS design, Slipgate Stories emphasizes fast movement, brutal combat, and oppressive atmosphere. Narratives are delivered through gameplay, environmental detail, level progression, and scattered pieces of lore rather than cutscenes or exposition. The player uncovers meaning the same way they survive: by pushing forward.
These projects are created in homage to DOOM and other old-school shooters that trusted players to piece together their worlds through action and implication. The focus is on tone, pacing and the uneasy space between science fiction, occult horror, and mythic ruin.
